Chocalte in The Green Mountains

Vermont is known for its maple syrup as well as its cheese and dairy products. Now chocolate and the state's chocolatiers are generating attention and buzz.

Known for culinary delights such as maple syrup and specialty cheeses, Vermont is home to hundreds of specialty food producers, winemakers and brewers. It’s also worth nothing that in Vermont, we have our share of superb chocolatiers.

Vermont is home to a number of local chocolatiers, including Laughing Moon Chocolates of Stowe; Snowflake Chocolatiers of Jericho; Tom & Sally’s Chocolates of Brattleboro; Daily Chocolate in Vergennes; Vermont Chocolatiers of Northfield; Vermont Nut Free Chocolates of Grand Isle; Montpelier Chocolate Factory of Montpelier; Sweet on Vermont Artisan Chocolates of Burlington and Lake Champlain Chocolates of Burlington.

To learn more about Vermont chocolate producers, visit the Shopping section of the Travel Planner on this site. You can also read more about Vermont chocolate producers in the current issue of Vermont Life, available online at www.VermontLife.com.

While you’re making plans for a Vermont vacation, be sure to mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Vermont Chocolate Show on May 17-18, 2008 at the Inn at Essex. Experience the artistry and craftsmanship of chocolate by some of the region's finest chocolatiers and chefs.
